Organization Kick: what am I turning into?!

My room has been pretty unattended lately, I have no energy nor time to put an order to it and it is just doing whatever it wants. It feels like nothing I try to do to make it a little more tidy than it is, the next day it looks like a hurricane just appeared from thin air and destroyed it. I am lacking of organization space and lacking of storage and better closet space.

I am going to start saving up to hire someone and build me an appropriate closet and some shelves and other things that I need so that I have a place for everything.

here is a small peek to what it looks like:

just a small portion of my shoe collection

only a fraction of my handbag craze.

As you can see, I have too much stuff and little space to work with! I need a makeover in organization and storage ASAP!

May Factor: Shoes

Happy May!

To be honest, I really like this month, it is the fact that the season are really starting to change and you can feel it at night with the cool wind and the chilly feeling you get. I am still waiting for it to be a lot more cold but I'll take that over supper hot summer days. Totally not a fan of hot days because I certainly don't know what other piece of clothing to take off and not be completely butt naked (as a figure of speech)

With May comes the mark of the middle of the semester too. MIDTERMS month. just for the first week of it. not a fan in that matter but that means less time to go until middle year break. Yes here we do it differently.

A couple days ago I went out for what seemed a long time since I went and have some drinks and have a nice time with my friends. Seriously. It was great to catch up and share some laughs.

What I noticed. I spent too much time with very comfortable shoes and zero heels last month, which have caused a serious problem with my feet. I can't stand in heels for more than 3 hours without my toes hurting for being trapped in a shoe jail.

That was it. I need a change. I want more heels than flats to wear almost regularly. I have now a fair share of flats. Almost too many. But (there is always a but) I need heel intervention so all my shoes are coming out for stroll in the city for work, university, you name it.

May is going to be a good month. I can feel it. And my heels and I will love it.

A day in the Life: Working it

It's been a while since I posted something. I just wanted to say that I feel awful about that! I missed it so much!

Now that I am working at my internship, my time management has been a little off (read: a lot off). So my writing and my personal life have been compromised a little to try to juggle it all nicely and well done.

So today I will Share how my Day at work goes, and everything.

6:45 am My alarm goes off, I just knock it over and don't pay attention, about an hour later I realize I have to get up.
7:40 am Getting up, Choosing what to wear, getting ready. Have breakfast. All that I do in about 30 minutes.
8:10 am, I put my shoes on (note: I put them on just about time to get to work, because other wise my feet start hurting and I don't feel good)
8:15, Head out of the door and walk to get the bus. Good thing that I have a bus stop 3 blocks away from my house.

The ride takes between 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic and how many stops the bus makes. Hello public transportation system in Peru. YOU.ARE.a.mess.

Then I get out of the bus, and have to walk between 5 or 6 blocks, I have never really counted them, to get to the office. That takes me about 5 or 10 minutes depending on the shoes.

Normally I get to the office about a couple of minutes before 9 o'clock.

9:00 am Get to the office, wait for someone to open and deactivate the alarm of the space we interns work at, luckily we are only two at the moment.

Then I turn on my computer, wait for it to booth for a couple minutes, and display all my stuff on my desk to see what I have to work on for the day. I normally work with research and databases, I have to confirm them and make a lot of phone calls, and when I say a lot, I mean piles and piles of sheets to go through.

I stay at the office normally till lunch time, which is about 1 pm and the head home. I get there at about 2 because the buses get jammed packed at that time because everyone and their mothers get out of work to eat and to find a fairly empty bus, you are most definitely  going to wait for a while.

I eat lunch with my lovely mother, rest for a bit and then start working again, sometimes doing the research is difficult and i can stay hours and hours trying to figure it out, and that is when my schedule gets a little puzzled out.
Plus, my classes start mid March and my schedule is getting more packed!

SOMEONE! please, help me? :)

I hope you enjoyed my day at the office, pretty boring I know, but that's how my days are coming to be a routine.

I love you all,

Life changing TV shows

I have never been the type of person that goes nuts over a tv show until a little while ago when gossip girl started airing. It was the most freeing show I have ever seen. Up next came all of the criminal shows that air at all times of the day and got hooked up on them.

What can I say? I'm just a tv show's lover. Recently I've been obsessing over Sex and the City in the internet. It aired when I was still too young for it to be appropriate of a 13 year old to watch. Now that I am quite old (to say the least) over the limit age for it being appropriate I am just enjoying it.

I knew of it's existance, I knew that it was about four friends that lived in Manhattan and ruled the streets and their careers. And all of the men too. That's how I got into cupcakes too. Magnolia's Bakery, the original cupcake bakery, for me, still.

Fashion. Oh the fashion, the style, the amazingness of it all. I just wish I could afford a pair of Manolo's or a 17 000 dollar Dior dress. What ever it is, it is just eye opening so that I work harder and receive a large paycheck to keep up with my expectations and dreams.

some pictures down here.

I could never leave behind Mr. Big.

Do you guys have a show that made you change your life expectations? Cause this totally made it for me!

have an awesome day!

Update + Current Favorites

Hello there! I have been pretty busy these past days, Midterms are here and I'm studying my butt off!

Gosh I never expected to read so much right now. But in the end it is totally going to be worth it. There is nothing more rewarding than achieving good grades for all the effort you put into it. I believe that having these little gratifications in life is huge to increase your self-esteem.

On another topic, makeup wise, I've been loving my Revlon Creme shadows that I've had for a while now, I am using them pretty much every day, I feel they are super versatile and nice and they don't crease (at least not that I can see them much). I have them in two palettes, Precious Metals and Moonlit Jewels. They are so pretty and good quality too. So if you get a chance to try them, go buy them. (I'm a big Revlon sucker as you may have already noticed!)

See? I've already hit pan in some of them :)

Another favorite of mine has been gummy bears, which are the cure for my Midterm Blues! The amount of sweet is just the best way to keep me going and it makes me a little hyperactive, but well, I think I've had way too many of them today...I feel woozy hahaha!

To go ahead with accessories, I've been loving my black ankle booties, the cow-girl style ones. They are so comfy and are a great to walk and take my exams on! (as if I took my exams running LOL)

I think that's all for today! I hope you are having great weekend!

Bookish bit.

I've been reading a lot lately, it's not just for university, but also for pleasure. I think the effect of not having one my favorite, if not all time favorite, tv show off air for so long, Gossip Girl, and the fact that this season is going to be it's last, is just making me go crazy.

So crazy I've went, that I decided to read all bout in the series written by Cecily von Ziegesar. And so far, they are very much entertaining. Who doesn't love a good old gossip story from all the elite and their dirt? I'm 2 book in the series and read them for just 3 days. One of them was only 100 pages, or so, long.

File:Gossip Girl 1.jpg

I will keep you updated with this new reading thing. But for this week it will have to wait, this week my midterms began and I have pretty much like hundreds and hundreds of pages to read, not in the pleasure side of course, but course wise.

I hope you have a nice day!

It's a Converse kindda day

Today I had to get up pretty early and go to a medical lab with my mom and my grandmother. My grand mother had to have some tests done and we pretty much were running. I had no idea on what to wear, in other words my brain was totally asleep by that time and I just grabbed what I felt more comfortable with at the time.

Normally, I would've worn my uggs. Today I was not feeling it and took out my converse for a little stroll on the city. It has been a while since I had them on, so they had a very well deserved outing.

As you can see, they are kind of well conserved, pretty clean and not worn out. I barely use them so you might agree that they were craving a good walk.

I just got back home and might need to go run some more errands. I will keep them on for the rest of the day.

Hope you guys are enjoying your last day of the week and getting ready for for the weekend!

Fashion Weeks kick-off parties!

Happy Saturday Everyone!

As the week has ended, and everybody has been a little crazy running around (the majority has just began a new semester a few days ago) and being loaded with work you normally don't get when you are just starting, I decided to make a post to make the stressful days be left behind for a while and talk Fashion Weeks. I know, a little late because they all began on Thursday with FNO's (Fashion's Night Out) from LA all the way through Italy.

This events are promoted in Europe and in the United States, they are the biggest ways to celebrate Fashion as a passion and as an art. It is the most profitable industry in the history, giving people jobs and a lifestyle. I love this add the most stylish people out there (Joan Rivers) and the most talented in LA made to promote this party of Fashion.

Some beauty gurus also participated, Elle and Blair Fowler and Dulce Candy.

I thought this is a great way to make people more conscious that Fashion is all over the world and more events should be promoted when the fashion weeks come along.

Here in Latin America we have great designers. Just look at Carolina Herrera and how massive her Fashion Empire has grown. We need to celebrate them too to make a statement and be a little piece of the puzzle too of this great movement.

Going back to topic, this month is going to be great and I will be keeping an eye to the latest trends that will, definitely, come around.

hope you have a great weekend!

Disclaimer: I do not own the video right for the one linked above. I am not in any way affiliated with the event to promote it I am just a loyal follower and Fashion lover. All opinions are my own

Purple Mania: Purple Senior Prom Dress(from High school)

Hey Everyone!

I was looking around the pictures of my Senior prom, and remembered how pretty was it (is). I have it hanged in my closet in a garment bag to keep it safe and pretty and I am not always openning the bag just to appreciate it. It has embelishments hand sewed and took 2 months to finish the dress and the sewing. My mom and I designed it and I am happy, very happy how it turned out.

That flower arrangement was just breath taking to I had to take a picture next to it.

I think this is it for my Purple Mania series, or maybe not?! Let's see what comes up and I'll update you.

Until next time with this pretty series!

Have a great day!

Running Shoes: Skechers GOrun

Hey everyone!

In my wishlist for running shoes are this totally adorable and super light weighed Skechers GOrun. I was trying them on the other day at the store and fell in love. The lady that was helping me out told me they are the best running shoes they carried and are very popular.

I am not a huge running-around-the-park person but I think I will totally spend the 80 dollars that are worth in the near future.

They have a great design and, the lighter the running shoes are, the most stamina they give to your run and the chances are less on getting injured. After all, who likes having a sprained ankle right? So if you were used on running with thick cushioned shoes, then give them a try, I swear that they are the best thing ever and you don't even feel them on your feet! Like walking on the clouds I might say (what walking on the clouds must feel like)

They are pretty and come in different colour combinations. Here are the ones I like.

Black and pink! stylish and up to some point muted.

Hope this was useful!

Shoe Love

Hey Everyone!

Shoes are my love, you can tell from my previous series called Shoes, shoes and more shoes. This time, I purchased the prettiest pair of Steve Madden shoes, they are a dark red color in patent leader, very very tall and are just me. It was that moment where you see the shoes, or any toher thing for that matter, and you just know those are the shoes you need.

Here are some pictures of them, if I'm not mistaken, they are already discontinued, but I found them at a total nice bargain. The price was just right. They are in the Model P-Rosa with the squared point.

So these are my new loves. I have worn them so much since I got them and can say that are the most confortable shoes that are this high, ever. They have a double pat at the platform, that is why they are so easy to walk in, you are like walking on the clouds.

Have you purchased any shoes lately? If so, was it love at first sight?

Hope you're having a great day

Walking, A nice way to excercise

Hey everyone!

It's been a while since I posted anything about health, and fitness. Let's be real, I like more fashion and beauty and know much much more about it. And it's easier to find articles all about fashion.

Lately, walking is one of the things we do in our house hold. Want to go to the grocery store 10 blocks from home? Walk. Want to visit my aunt living exactly on 6 blocks down my street? Walk. Want to get the dogs to walk not using our-at-home treadmill? (yeah we do that) WALK THEM. The best health option.

While walking, you are exercising. Maybe not as tiring as a good old run around the  neighbourhood, but it is still something. You will burn calories, you will feel more oxygenated (although at the beginning you will be TIRED)  and you will be just more fit and with better resistance.

All of this walking, I know I am repeating my-self a lot, is so beneficial for your mood too. Your endocrine system will release  endorphins and they will make you more relaxed an happy. And to quote Elle Woods. Happy people don't kill.

Remember, walking makes you fitter, and just less stressed. If you have little time in the day, try switching up your schedule, and walk short distances when you have to run errands.

I hope you guys have a wonderful, wonderful weekend!

Boot-sy Call

Hey Everyone!

I have 2 new obsessions this winter. One is a camel and the other a black. Yes SHOES! you are right! I totally agree with the fact that the perfect shoe has to find you and not the other way around. I was walking by in a store and just found the first pair sitting there just glowing and calling for my name (a little dramatic I know, but everything just fell into place at that moment). These are the most comfortable and nicest pair of camel ankle booties I've ever owned in my life and are just adorable, they have a wedged heel so it is super easy to walk with them, they've already passed the test making me some company on my University day.

They are absolutely adorable. Later on the month, I found myself walking by another shoe store (surprise surprise) and the most me shoe was standing in its shelf and just smiled at me. It was the second time in the month that I felt instantaneously happy. The leather was flawless and the black was perfect for every occasion. They have a 2.5 inch heel and are pretty comfortable to walk in and I am absolutely glad they crossed my path that day.

They have a kind of cowboy boot feel to them but are still on an edge with the buckle on the side and the studs on the belt around the boot.

I am so proud of these purchases, I was really needing some good quality heeled shoes for winter, because I was lacking of them as for every day wear.

Have a nice week everyone! and keep an eye for new posts this week!

Update: Back to School

Hey Everyone!

I am just about to start University again, I have my timetable all figured out, my school supplies bought and ready to be used and I just feel I've had way to much spare time during this Summer vacations that I forgot how to write on paper.

But all in all, I am exited to see all the familiar faces of my class mates and the people that I've gotten to know through all these years. I know it is going to be a much much more interesting semester, I am pass half of my career and loving it still. I need to find a place to do intern-ships to get the credits in order to fulfil the ones necessary for me to graduate.

Many other things have been happening, I got off track with my daily routines and just made an awful mess with my beauty and eating habits through this time. I will make a list and start by getting right in track so that I start the semester ready and able to continue a routine so my life will be more organized than these couple of months I had free.

I have to concentrate more in the classes that I am taking, so no social life for me, at least, not as complicated and active as it used to be. I have to keep nice and steady grades to apply for a good job and to make it where I want to get as a professional.

Tumblr_m0hq2jfgy11qb67gho1_500_large

Yesterday was my father's birthday and we celebrated it quite nicely and we got him a couple of nice things as gifts. While trying to find him the presents, I found SHOES and of course i fell in love and bought them. A nice treat for me while I can. I may do a post about them because I love them so much I just could resist them, they are two pairs of shoes, some moccasin-like ballerinas and brown wedges. <3

I thinks that's it for now, until next time !

Style Segment: From 1920 to 1930's

Style set it's new boundary-less, more feminine and fashionable self during this period of time, women started to centre more around personal grooming as a plus for fashion. This became a hit since Hollywood started presenting motion pictures with some of our favourite fashionistas of the time.

The magazines Vogue and Harper's Bazaar saw this trait coming and inclined their products into developing fashion statements and slowly became women's most read magazines until this era. Women preferred them because of the tips and tricks they showed in how to achieve the Hollywood Glamour that every girl/woman desired.

During this time period, skirts, suits and bodices where so in and the hem fell from about an inch beneath the knee, one stylist that introduced it was Chanel. The style became baggy, not that much of form fitting as the previous style we saw during the decade of the 1910 all the way to 1920. The zipper began to be utilize more in the latter part of the decade.

During the late years of the decade, in 1928, the style changed again making the hem to the knee and leading to the style of 1930.

Women gained the right to vote and with such liberty they began to carve their way in society, more liberal thoughts run through their minds and (as being a woman my self too) it was fun to experiment with new things that came in the way. The style had to become more comfortable without loosing the class and the status of ladies.

We can never forget about the shoes, the piece that make the outfit fall together smoothly. T-straps where the most used type of shoe because they provided security while dancing the Charleston  and pointy toes and medium to high heel where perfect for the deed.

I hope you guys liked this post, it's always interesting to know how style has changed and what influenced those changes.

Happy Monday

Hey everyone!

I hope this start of the week has been great for you! It started nicely to me, we began by cleaning my mum's closet and reorganizing it. It was nice to select clothes for charity and also to make it a better space for my mum to have and feel it nice and..well...better organized (for the lack of vocabulary today) I feel I am so tired and I have already began some of my (late) spring cleaning, making room for new stuff and for more school books (i feel i start swimming in papers every semester)

I hope you have a great week and a beautiful Monday :)

Style Segment: From the 1910 to 1920's

Hey Guys!

Style is a huge part of our world. It has been a dynamic environment since the beginning of times and has evolved and transcended to history. I have always wandered what has made it change so much and why some styles are coming back these days. Is it because before there was more of a sense of what was correct for the society and seemed more classy and elegant? Maybe we can find this out through the history of style.

In the time of 1910 all the way through 1920, the style changed more rapidly due to the different  events all the way from the World War I to the sinking of the Titanic. Corsets were rapidly eliminated from the wardrobe scene of women and instead more lose and less fitted because women had to start doing the jobs their men left behind to go fight the war.

Some other influences started to come their way, like the long tunics of the eastern nations and the colours and designs from them had a space built for the occidental societies. The skirts where some flowy and some very tight that they could't walk normally, instead they had to take small steps so that the fabric wont reap.

The shoes went on a different transformation and the stitching and the decorative buttons were present. Hats and scarves and umbrellas to protect from the sun were so in style that had a special section in every women's closet.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, it's part of a series, if you can notice I have tons of them coming your way.
