Bye Bye May.

I've had the craziest month. Some ups and downs came my way, and have been really learning experiences. Loved them and also hated them. It's things like these that make me open my eyes and understand how much time I spend trying to multitask, but it is actually not working at all. I can do some things at the same time, but have figure out that if I just do one thing, finish it and then continue with the next, is going to make my life easier and stay on top of my game.

Yesterday I heard a phrase that is stuck on my head, "It doesn't matter the speed of the things you do, it matters how you do them and how well you perform them". Well yes, I have been trying lately to keep up with the craziness. I just can't any more. I am not following it, it's not my pace.

For June, my goal is to go at my speed, don't try to multitask cause that is making me fall behind. I sometimes think that the whole world if pushing me to walk faster than I am used to, but this time, I just want to take it my way.

May has been, most definitely, a learning month, one that has made me open my eyes and be struck with reality. Being a grown up is certainly more difficult. You just have to learn how to handle things and go with your own speed.

I hope your month is starting off right!

have a great day!

High Fashion

Mario Testino is an icon in the fashion world for his portraits for magazines like Vogue, V magazine and Harper's Bazaar.  He is inspiring a whole new vibe. In that vibe, he is so proud to be a Peruvian that achieved great things with his expectations and opportunities that came his way.

He is now presenting in Lima, Peru his most recent exhibition called "Alta Moda" portraying men and women from the Peruvian Highlands wearing their colorful and exotic party attires. This exhibit was put together with pictures taken by Testino in a course of 5 years. He was attracted to the different colors and parties and ensembles that these native people had and showed how proud they were to be dressing for the parts.

As a Peruvian myself, I feel like Mario is doing a great job. In the capital city you can't see most of the times these dresses and the peruvian culture itself. Most people have to travel to the outskirt locations to really appreciate what it is all about.

Here is a sneak peak of the exhibition taken from Mario Testino's site

You can see a little more of this exhibit here.

And if you find yourself in Lima, Peru you can altogether go see it and support the MATE foundation by doing it. It opened April 20th and will go on till September 15th.

The adress: Pedro de Osma 409, Barranco.
Times: Tuesday-Saturday 11 am - 8 pm
           Sundays 11 am - 6 pm

I hope you give a visit if you are around the area and if you can't, check out a little bit of it in the site.

Purple Mania: Purple Senior Prom Dress(from High school)

Hey Everyone!

I was looking around the pictures of my Senior prom, and remembered how pretty was it (is). I have it hanged in my closet in a garment bag to keep it safe and pretty and I am not always openning the bag just to appreciate it. It has embelishments hand sewed and took 2 months to finish the dress and the sewing. My mom and I designed it and I am happy, very happy how it turned out.

That flower arrangement was just breath taking to I had to take a picture next to it.

I think this is it for my Purple Mania series, or maybe not?! Let's see what comes up and I'll update you.

Until next time with this pretty series!

Have a great day!

Canada, Friends and Food!

Hey Guys!

I have been MIA these few days. I have been spending some couple of quality ones with my 3 best friends form high-school given the fact that one of them came back for a week from Canada! We've been cherishing this moment, of the four of us being together again, for a really long time, because she has a different Uni timetable and she had a week off so she wanted to come visit and we found out just few days before she arrived in Lima.

We've been out having girls night outs, eating and having fun chatting and remembering all the things we used to do. It's amazing how much someone can grow up in just couple of years and still have the same essence of the character. We've grown up so much in the past years and still love hanging out with each other, and because we don't get to see each other that often we appreciate and love every second that we have as a little family that we are.

We've had an awesome time together, and on friday we are going to have a farewell lunch with our friend to wish her a happy trip. It's sad that she has to go so soon but it was so nice to have her back these days.

Love your friends and make a well deserved girls night out with them to de-stress and centre on things that are also very important.

xo,

S.A
