Video Blogging

So vlogging is a thing now. Everybody and their mother is doing it. I am too shy to stand in front of a camera by myself and speak to it. It just makes me a little self conscious. I hate feeling that way. But when I am helping B to film and do her university projects, I am on!

I have always loved acting. I once dreamed of becoming a mayor movie star! but something inside me was not so eager about it. I like my privacy. I wouldn't be able to do or say anything that immediately the media would turn the words over and make it a whole different think. Media is powerful, and they have great responsibilities.

Going back to business, after my rambling of being a movie star, I would love to start vlogging, but something deep inside of me is scared. Scared of people saying things, having bad comments at the tip of their tongues. Which I have seen floating around the internet. I am the number one person against that people who are just plain mean to others.

Putting aside  the mean comments, there is also a great side that is pushing me towards that direction, which is the awesome community, people who are supporting and loving, such as the blogging community that is so warm and nice.

I know I have blogged about video blogging a while ago, but never as deep as this post gets.

I would like to know what do you think? do you vlog? if so leave me a link below! I would love to see it and don't feel so alone in this new "project".

Love you all!

DETOX

I have heard a lot of things about detox programs. Juices, routines and more. So what do you think of it? is it really healthy to do detox for 3 days and start eating healthier?

I think it might help go back to your healthier habits after messing it up with all the pizza, meat, rice, pasta, chocolate, ice-cream and all that delicious and not-so-good-food-for-you. So maybe it is really good for some people and not so good for others.

I haven't tried any yet, but I am certainly contemplating starting it for 3 days. I found one that might be interesting to follow. It is the Dr.Oz 3 days detox cleanse. I am still a little hesitant but I shall give it a try in the next week or so, maybe not so strict but having the juices replace 2 of the 3 main meals, mostly breakfast and dinner.

I hope it goes well. I think I might blog my experience after so that you guys know how it went. If you are willing to do it with me and support each other, head over to the Dr. Oz website and check it out and then share your experience with me through a comment or linking me your blog post about it in the comments.

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated to the program, show or person mentioned in this post. It is all my opinion. I am not, in any ways, an expert on the subject.

Mother's Day 2013

Happy mother's day to all the moms out there!

We are having a special time at home, doing nothing but chill out and enjoy the pretty day. We had a brunch where we enjoyed a pretty yummy feast and my grandma got all the attention. Of course my mom too, but my grandma is a mom times 2.

Head over to Instagram and check out today's pictures of our brunch table.

I hope you are having an awesome time with your moms and show them you love them to the moon and beyond, cause to the moon and back is such a limited distance.

High Fashion

Mario Testino is an icon in the fashion world for his portraits for magazines like Vogue, V magazine and Harper's Bazaar.  He is inspiring a whole new vibe. In that vibe, he is so proud to be a Peruvian that achieved great things with his expectations and opportunities that came his way.

He is now presenting in Lima, Peru his most recent exhibition called "Alta Moda" portraying men and women from the Peruvian Highlands wearing their colorful and exotic party attires. This exhibit was put together with pictures taken by Testino in a course of 5 years. He was attracted to the different colors and parties and ensembles that these native people had and showed how proud they were to be dressing for the parts.

As a Peruvian myself, I feel like Mario is doing a great job. In the capital city you can't see most of the times these dresses and the peruvian culture itself. Most people have to travel to the outskirt locations to really appreciate what it is all about.

Here is a sneak peak of the exhibition taken from Mario Testino's site

You can see a little more of this exhibit here.

And if you find yourself in Lima, Peru you can altogether go see it and support the MATE foundation by doing it. It opened April 20th and will go on till September 15th.

The adress: Pedro de Osma 409, Barranco.
Times: Tuesday-Saturday 11 am - 8 pm
           Sundays 11 am - 6 pm

I hope you give a visit if you are around the area and if you can't, check out a little bit of it in the site.

Therapy: To Shop

When a girl is stressed, she buys things to make that feeling go away.
I am the living proof of it.

I just came home from a shopping spree with my parents and it was so relaxing. I am 2 days away from midterms and I am stressed to the top level. Horrible. We bought some things for the house and some groceries too.

I found the cutest sweater in the kids section that was large enough to fit me and that was a very good deal.

Do you like to free your mind shopping? What do you do to relieve stress?

May Factor: Shoes

Happy May!

To be honest, I really like this month, it is the fact that the season are really starting to change and you can feel it at night with the cool wind and the chilly feeling you get. I am still waiting for it to be a lot more cold but I'll take that over supper hot summer days. Totally not a fan of hot days because I certainly don't know what other piece of clothing to take off and not be completely butt naked (as a figure of speech)

With May comes the mark of the middle of the semester too. MIDTERMS month. just for the first week of it. not a fan in that matter but that means less time to go until middle year break. Yes here we do it differently.

A couple days ago I went out for what seemed a long time since I went and have some drinks and have a nice time with my friends. Seriously. It was great to catch up and share some laughs.

What I noticed. I spent too much time with very comfortable shoes and zero heels last month, which have caused a serious problem with my feet. I can't stand in heels for more than 3 hours without my toes hurting for being trapped in a shoe jail.

That was it. I need a change. I want more heels than flats to wear almost regularly. I have now a fair share of flats. Almost too many. But (there is always a but) I need heel intervention so all my shoes are coming out for stroll in the city for work, university, you name it.

May is going to be a good month. I can feel it. And my heels and I will love it.
