Finally here in Lima is being a little colder, cold enough to wear coats when outside and a light weight, long sleeve blouse when inside.

A kid at Heart
Christmas is long gone now and I am a little sad that it went by so fast. I normally enjoy it a little more, but for a couple of years now, I have had to work during the days previous to it and therefore my Christmas spirit has not been the highest.
All in all, I had a great time, and, even though I didn't do a What I got for Christmas post, I did wanted to mention one gift that was supper special for me and that meant a lot, especially because I am no child to be wanting one, but still wanted it and when I got it, I was ecstatic.
I got a furbacca as a Christmas Present.

The Best Gift
As you might have already read in my Black Friday haul (actually a whole weekend haul) I bought myself a 13" Macbook Air and it is the best purchase I have made in a while.
It is a pretty expensive gift to buy if you buy it here in Peru, but I went for it anyways because, to be honest, I don't like waiting (who does?) and after a pretty much 7 year in the want I just had to have it.
Everything began with one of my friends at work wanting to sell her 2011 Macbook Air at a pretty good price. I was determined. I wanted to buy it from her. But still needed advice and just talk it out with someone who knows me even more than I know myself. My mother of course. So I called her and told her the deal and what was going on. She listened to me, allowed me to finish the rambling story I was telling her and just told me: "Are you sure you want to buy a second hand computer?" and that was it. Those words made me realize that I might be getting a computer cheaper but it involved a lot more than just the price.

October Dreams
As the 10th month of the year has come and almost gone, I have been as crazy as a bee in honey season. I have been slacking in my webson (web + person) status but my lifeson (life + person)has been great and running.
For me, since stepping into the real world as a full time job person has been a little exhausting but nice. We have a big event coming up in a few weeks and we are just crazy at the office with all the preparations. Most people would think that not having to go to class is a relief, but let me tell you...it ain't a stroll at the beach but I am not complaining at all. It is more of a roller coaster ride where you have ups and downs and turns but nothing that one can't handle. Which brings me to my next point. I have been doing a lot of planning. Planning, planning, planning a lot of different projects which demand a little research. This is a little survey for me to keep up with one of my projects, and I hope you find it interesting!
Click here to get to the survey. I really appreaciate your support with it.
And remember:
Have a great day!

Weekend blizz
I have had a long and great week. My best plans on a Friday night after one week like this is to stay home, watch movies, eat a big bowl of ice cream, talk to some friends and even bake a little.
I have been watching a lot of movies lately too after I get back home from work. Walking really takes the energy out of this lazy body, so it seems like a great plan to get in bed and do nothing. Of course if something better comes up I will be willing to give it a chance, but for now, doing nothing is amazing.
I spent my day in netflix (watching gossip girl), browsing through pinterest, watching youtube videos and thinking about the wonders of life. Here some of my favourite images from pinterest this days:

Fashion Weeks 2014
All I have to say is that these times of the year are just awesome. I love that fashion around the world takes over and makes the best dressed people (some that you could only imagine living in magazines) step out in masses and be gathered for just one purpose, FASHION.
Though this year it is different due to the loss of our beloved Fashion Guardian, Joan Rivers. A minute of silence please, to ease her soul. She was irreverent, had no problem on saying what was on top of ther mind and was not afraid of saying outloud what we were all thinking.
Getting back on the Fashion note, I think that many just can't handle the fact that they are not experts (of course some are but not all) and there are various times that shows find this out, and make an awesome outcome out of it. Like Jimmy Kimmel for example with this Lie Witness News space in his show.
This was amazing. Loved specially the new Chandler Bing designs LOL. Speakinf the 20 years since Friends.
Fashion is a big inspiration for me, it takes creativity to another level and makes the person be who the person really is through personal expression. It forms character, it forms a strong sence of personality to each their own.
I hope you are spending a nice saturday, and make the best out of it. I know I am.

25 years of love
On Monday September the 1st, my parents celebrated 25 years of marriage. There have been ups and downs as in every couple's life, but they know how to keep it together.
As their only child I have come to know how to handle these two (trust me, it is not an easy task!!) and to learn to be a little more patient because in the end, they are the ones who brought me into this world (thank you) and be the person I am today.
It was a really special day where I baked a cake
Got to share the dinner table with these amazing people
Drank a little (or a lot) of Champagne in this amazing Silver decorated glass
And in the end, we spent time together which is more than anyone can ask for at moments like this.
Family is the most important part of my life, because they are the ones who keep me sane, who support me every step of the way, and this is just a little tribute to true love.
Cheers!

Wardrobe Upgrade
As a student, wearing comfortable clothes has been good, and getting to work in the same (but always cute) outfits is even better, until that one time where your boss comes to you and your student colleagues (see what is going on here?) and tells you all that you need to start dressing your part. Yes, he had no trouble with it at all, but it is also something that is required in order to look professional and be more "mature" for what we have been doing around.
The last couple of months have been really relaxed with me not studying any more (less than a month for graduation! yey!) which has made me realize that as a professional woman, I had to be on top of the game and started dressing appropriately. I had to go out and buy myself dress pants, blouses, shoes (because why not?) and some accessories to be prepared for the every day job activity.
I went from dressing like this:
![]() |
| Jeans, boots, and t-shirts (which was cute too) |
To dressing like this:
![]() |
| Dress pants, blouses, coats and heels (not pictured well here) |
Which has been pretty much a matter of getting used to it and trying to play with it so that it really looks young and fresh and age appropriate.
It has been a good change, and I am definitely trying new styles and being more daring with all of it.
have you had to go through a major wardrobe upgrade at any moment in life just like mine??
I hope you are doing great! until next time!

Vintage Fashion Sketches
Fashion sketches have always been amazing to me, the way artists (yes, fashion designers are artists) portray their vision and make it shine through an illustration is just incredible. You have to be talented and be patient in order to get that amount of domain in illustrating things. Here I leave you one sketch that I found that really caught my attention.

New Face
You may have noticed the new image of the blog. I wanted something simple, sleak and with not so much going on. I opted for just a gray background image with a little of texture and just some fun pops of color with the links and titles.
I felt it was time for a change as new transitions and exciting things are going on with my life and learning to love the simplicity and little things which come with new beginnings.
Cheers to new beginnings and for the new image of SKMS.

Kimye Wedding
Can we just stop for a little while and just talk about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's wedding? It is just a guilty pleasure of my to watch their everyday lives on TV and ugh I hate that it is so enjoyable!
Throughout the whole week people were on a buzz and they turned upside-down Europe because of the extravaganza that was about to happen! they have got to travel the world like royals and I just can't put my self together from all the Valentino dresses running around Paris and also that party Valentino himself threw at his palace at the outsides of the city (SO JEALOUS! what do I have to do in order to make Valentino throw a party for me?), it would be such an amazing experience to get to travel the world (specially Europe) to get married to the love of your life and also having the economy to do so!
They are such a power couple which has left a lot to the imagination of the location of the wedding. Italy was the chosen place. All family flew out to Europe and the amount of love that was showed is just overwhelming. I would love to have an opportunity like that one!
Any-who, I can just leave a few pictures of this powerful duo (which are 3 already because of baby North) right below:

Ending it right.
This week has been an emotional roller coaster. Don't yo ujust hate it when that happens? Ups, downs, turns, cero gravity and finally, it stops all of a sudden? Maybe we don't realize how big or small those impacts are in our lives but sometimes they just pin point things that may be happening or things that already passed and you didn't notice.
But as all things that can and may go wrong, small details are the ones that create a whole something and make you smile, just for a little while through it all.
Never let negativity and trouble bring you down. Maybe from that experience you can take something and learn from it.
Pretty things to make you smile this Friday are about to come.
Have a nice day and a great weekend.

Start of the week
My week is going to be cray cray. To start it off right I have a midterm to take, a presentation of a project and some huge readings for late at night, which is not bad, but just crazy for my brain to add up so much info in just one day. But fear not, I will be ok and that is why I leave you with cute puppies and a place where I just wish I was at the moment.

Cannes 2014: My 3 best dressed
As many of you might know I love some good fashion and specially if all the movie stars are involved in a film festival of the magnitude of the Cannes Film Festival 2014. Therefore there have been a lot of great looks around the week and the ones which caught my attention were the following:
![]() |
| Blake Lively (Love the burgundy and the leg showoff) |
![]() |
| Lea Seydoux (Emerald green is always a favorite for me and the style is just on point) |
![]() |
| Zoe Saldana (White, pure and fresh and sophisticated) |
love you!

Winter Love
I have the strangest of all relationships with weather I have ever seen or known of. I hate summer when it is too long and I just can't wait for winter to roll around so that I can take my big warm clothes (or buy new one) and layer them and just be cozy all.day.long. But when that time comes, were leaves are falling, the wind becomes chilly and skies are just completely clowd-packed. I just love it. And also, hate it. (I have trouble believing that I am a sane person for several reasons and then I realize that being normal is completely boring) It happens all over again, when it becomes too long, too freezing and too repetitive. To be honest, it just complicates my mind, my mood and my wardrobe! (I run out of combinations to put together in an outfit, but that aint all, it just makes me feel under the weather and my productivity lowers in about 10% which is not good).
I have to say, right now I am loving the weather transition but is making me go bananas! But the clothes, oh the clothes. This has lead me to make an importante wardrobe change because of size reduction which is great for my ego, but not for my wallet.
Hope you have a great time wherever you are and also that you don't hate/love the weather as I do.

January Diary 2014
I have had awesome experiences both in my personal life and in my work life. People has come and gone, leaving great opportunities for me to learn and grow and apply the knowledge for better.
Somethings I've learned from them:
1) Sometimes words don't have an actual meaning. Cause they don't and that is how it is.
2) If you want something, don't wait for it to fall from the sky, an action is better than just sitting around waiting, it will lead you to the result you actually want.
3) Things happen for a reason, it could be for better or worse, but it in the end, everything falls into place.
4) Family is the most important thing in life. They are your support system at all time 24/7 all 360 days of the year with no holidays in between.
5) Some friends become family. See point 4)
6) Actions say more than words do.
7) You have to be yourself. At every moment, every time, no matter who you meet. They either love you or hate you, keep the ones who do love you.
I'd make a 10 thing list, but for the moment, 3 are missing, which will need a review before posting! sometimes putting yourself out there is no better, but it may help. (I'll make an update later)
January was a great month, a great learning experience and a great time. I hope the rest of the year is as good and as fruitful.
here a few of my favorite things.
Have a nice Sunday everyone!
