A literal description.

I hope you are enjoying your day so far, I certainly am!

Christmas Party

On Friday, we had the annual End of Year Party of the Organization I work for and this year, we celebrated not only the end of the year, but also how we broke a Guinness World record. It was not an amazing one but we can certainly say we did it in style. We gained the recognition for "The Largest bowl of Quinoa" in the world, and it was something to talk about.

On the other hand, we had the opportunity to all be gathered together and have a good time with good food, good friends and amazing music.

I had a total pampering day before the party, which was an amazing way to start the night.

October Dreams

As the 10th month of the year has come and almost gone, I have been as crazy as a bee in honey season. I have been slacking in my webson (web + person) status but my lifeson (life +  person)has been great and running.

For me, since stepping into the real world as a full time job person has been a little exhausting but nice. We have a big event coming up in a few weeks and we are just crazy at the office with all the preparations. Most people would think that not having to go to class is a relief, but let me tell you...it ain't a stroll at the beach but I am not complaining at all. It is more of a roller coaster ride where you have ups and downs and turns but nothing that one can't handle.  Which brings me to my next point. I have been doing a lot of planning. Planning, planning, planning a lot of different projects which demand a little research. This is a little survey for me to keep up with one of my projects, and I hope you find it interesting!

Click here to get to the survey. I really appreaciate your support with it.

And remember:

Have a great day!

Wardrobe Upgrade

As a student, wearing comfortable clothes has been good, and getting to work in the same (but always cute) outfits is even better, until that one time where your boss comes to you and your student colleagues (see what is going on here?) and tells you all that you need to start dressing your part. Yes,  he had no trouble with it at all, but it is also something that is required in order to look professional and be more "mature" for what we have been doing around.

The last couple of months have been really relaxed with me not studying any more (less than a month for graduation! yey!) which has made me realize that as a professional woman, I had to be on top of the game and started dressing appropriately. I had to go out and buy myself dress pants, blouses, shoes (because why not?) and some accessories to be prepared for the every day job activity.

I went from dressing like this:

Jeans, boots, and t-shirts (which was cute too)

To dressing like this:

Dress pants, blouses, coats and heels (not pictured well here)

Which has been pretty much a matter of getting used to it and trying to play with it so that it really looks young and fresh and age appropriate.

It has been a good change, and I am definitely trying new styles and being more daring with all of it.

have you had to go through a major wardrobe upgrade at any moment in life just like mine??

I hope you are doing great! until next time!

Try

I did my best, I tried and tried.

Trying is always the best thing one can do before feeling defeated and all emotional. Ok, you can cry, but if you don't try it wont be helpful. Sometimes hard work pays off, but it wont happen over the night and if you don't believe in yourself, well, a dream will only be a dream.

Do you remember how I was struggling at the beginning of the year with that job issue? well I did and I couldn't be happier. I was persistent on what I wanted, of where I knew I would fit in best, and where I was more comfortable at and finally, I ended up in the right place.

So keep on trying, the first attempt may not have the outcome you wanted, maybe the second or third will.

Bye Bye May.

I've had the craziest month. Some ups and downs came my way, and have been really learning experiences. Loved them and also hated them. It's things like these that make me open my eyes and understand how much time I spend trying to multitask, but it is actually not working at all. I can do some things at the same time, but have figure out that if I just do one thing, finish it and then continue with the next, is going to make my life easier and stay on top of my game.

Yesterday I heard a phrase that is stuck on my head, "It doesn't matter the speed of the things you do, it matters how you do them and how well you perform them". Well yes, I have been trying lately to keep up with the craziness. I just can't any more. I am not following it, it's not my pace.

For June, my goal is to go at my speed, don't try to multitask cause that is making me fall behind. I sometimes think that the whole world if pushing me to walk faster than I am used to, but this time, I just want to take it my way.

May has been, most definitely, a learning month, one that has made me open my eyes and be struck with reality. Being a grown up is certainly more difficult. You just have to learn how to handle things and go with your own speed.

I hope your month is starting off right!

have a great day!

Update

I think I might be doing too many things lately. I have been busy as hell with school and work and frankly, I have had zero time to spare. Midterms are coming my way. My job is taking interesting turns and my social life is just as a mess as it was a couple months ago.

So basically, I am complete mess once again. I am trying to work my hardest for things to work out smoothly. I am in the process of finishing my career and my classes and my credits to be able to graduate as planed and blogging has been left behind for all reasons mentioned above.

The only spare time I have is to take a little control over my personal life to clean my room (which is constantly messy) take care of my little one and be some kind of help for my mom to make the house somewhat organized. I have a lot to take on. I feel a huge weigh on my shoulders right now and I feel I am juggling very badly with 15 glass balls in the air and trying not to let any single one of them fall to the ground to break. That is how stressed I feel if you get what I am saying.

I took a day off yesterday. Did nothing all day. And I feel horrible about it. Now my work has packed up on me and need to do my best to catch up on it.

I don't like to leave my blog behind but sometimes life is just not helpful. I have to go now.

I hope you all are doing great! you can keep up with me a little via twitter and sometimes over at facebook

Wondering wondering

My mind is disperse all around the place. Do you never look back and see at a past relationship and wonder what if? What if you didn't break up with that person? what would your path be? How would you be handling the situation at this exact moment?

A lot of doubts come to mind when thinking what could have happened. And so as to think what could become of it.

And also, what do you think of falling in love with the wring person which ends up being the right one? Depends on your definition of right and wrong but it all starts to make sense doesn't it?

The reason I am being so random with this is that yesterday I had a dream. Don't ask me if it was a good one or a bad one because I can't really tell that myself. I dreamed about Julia Robert's My Best friend's wedding. Yeah, so bizarre. I don't even know where that came from due to the fact that I have not seen anything related to it and specially the movie in so long. Is my mind playing some sort of delusional prank on me? or what is going on?

What ever it is that my mind is trying to do to my sanity, I just wondered but would it be if I took different paths, made other decisions and kept on going?

What would have happened now? where would I've been today? would I have been sitting here writing this? Would I marry that one person that made me feel awesome at the time? Would I have learned the things I learned in the path that I am now?

Who knows, but in the end, I am glad that nothing stayed the same, that I have this life now and I wouldn't want it any other way. Many things may arise in the future, but change is not bad at all. Scary. OBVIOUSLY. but not bad.

Do you ever have this doubts?

I hope you have an awesome start of the week <3

A day in the Life: Working it

It's been a while since I posted something. I just wanted to say that I feel awful about that! I missed it so much!

Now that I am working at my internship, my time management has been a little off (read: a lot off). So my writing and my personal life have been compromised a little to try to juggle it all nicely and well done.

So today I will Share how my Day at work goes, and everything.

6:45 am My alarm goes off, I just knock it over and don't pay attention, about an hour later I realize I have to get up.
7:40 am Getting up, Choosing what to wear, getting ready. Have breakfast. All that I do in about 30 minutes.
8:10 am, I put my shoes on (note: I put them on just about time to get to work, because other wise my feet start hurting and I don't feel good)
8:15, Head out of the door and walk to get the bus. Good thing that I have a bus stop 3 blocks away from my house.

The ride takes between 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic and how many stops the bus makes. Hello public transportation system in Peru. YOU.ARE.a.mess.

Then I get out of the bus, and have to walk between 5 or 6 blocks, I have never really counted them, to get to the office. That takes me about 5 or 10 minutes depending on the shoes.

Normally I get to the office about a couple of minutes before 9 o'clock.

9:00 am Get to the office, wait for someone to open and deactivate the alarm of the space we interns work at, luckily we are only two at the moment.

Then I turn on my computer, wait for it to booth for a couple minutes, and display all my stuff on my desk to see what I have to work on for the day. I normally work with research and databases, I have to confirm them and make a lot of phone calls, and when I say a lot, I mean piles and piles of sheets to go through.

I stay at the office normally till lunch time, which is about 1 pm and the head home. I get there at about 2 because the buses get jammed packed at that time because everyone and their mothers get out of work to eat and to find a fairly empty bus, you are most definitely  going to wait for a while.

I eat lunch with my lovely mother, rest for a bit and then start working again, sometimes doing the research is difficult and i can stay hours and hours trying to figure it out, and that is when my schedule gets a little puzzled out.
Plus, my classes start mid March and my schedule is getting more packed!

SOMEONE! please, help me? :)

I hope you enjoyed my day at the office, pretty boring I know, but that's how my days are coming to be a routine.

I love you all,

Workout Playlist 7

As I've been sick as a mad woman has, I've been working long hours in my laptop rather than my usual Desktop that I use on a daily basis. So not all my music is here and my iPod just passed to a better life (I need an upgrade badly) therefor I have some other music here and I was listening to it and got inspired. To start the week more positive and active, here are my five favorite songs I re-discovered! :)

1) Imperfect is the new perfect- Caitlin Crosby
2) Who owns my heart- Miley Cyrus
3) Say you don't want it- One Night Only
4) What doesn't kill you- Kelly Clarkson
5) In my head- Jason Derulo

Emma Watson in the video of Say you don't Want it from One Night Only

Have an awesome day!

Back to School: Heavy Duty Calculator

Hey Everyone!

It's about time to start school, college, university, you name it. It always comes in handy to have a nice and powerful device to do mathematical calculus when a class requires it. I am a huge sucker for those big and bulky calculators. I am a nerd at heart and soul.

There are various options in the market of these great calculators. For example, the Texas Instruments brand have a really nice and great quality calculators. This model, the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition is the one that most of my fellow class students were using at high-school and was a rock. And you can change the cases of this calculator any time you want to the colour you desire.

The next calculator was the one that all of my friends used. It is a Casio CFX-9850GC Plus in colours. It was, and still is, my baby. It is great to draw graphs, do derivatives, equations and every other mathematical problem your teachers present you.  This model was recommended to us by our science teacher. He swore on these calculators and he was so right. I use it for everything from a simple add up of 60+96 or a very long 2 variable equation.

Another calculator, also from Casio, is a more recent model of my dearly beloved GC plus. It is the FX-9860GII. It has all the features of the later calculator but also has a USB cable in which you can download every data you have, both in your computer and the calculator, to have it everywhere.

FX-9860GII

So with any of these calculators you could be prepared to rock those maths problems and get good grades hopefully. Before you buy them, be sure that they meet the requirements for the classes and what the teachers recommend. There is also a great variety of non-graphic calculators, which are much simpler to use.

I hope you are having a great end of vacations and enjoy your last bits of freedom!

Fashion Internship

Hey everyone!

I was just wondering how awesome would it be to get an internship in some part of the fashion world? For me it would be so nice and would be a great time to diversify my horizons and go and try something new apart from my management mayor. I think it would be that different also because you should know how to develop as a leader and manager in some of the projects you are in charge of, you would just be adding something girls love since playing with barbies was so much fun. Dress up, makeup, fashion in all its splendor.

I am thinking going abroad to make one of these internships, I was thinking France, Spain, Italy or Belgium. I don't know why but I am in need to travel and learn more about fashion around the world in order to grow as a person and a professional, developing different skills and having fun while doing it.

Ever since I saw the movie with Anne Hathaway, The Devil wears Prada, I fell in love with the fashion industry and it's perks. But, as you all know, you should always take baby steps to get to where you want to be.

I hope you are all having a nice day, here the sun has come up and it's smiling all the way.

S.A
