Fresh and New

So you may have already noticed, SKMS has had a makeover! I am pretty pleased with the end result.

I wanted something that reflected more my style and my life at the moment. Where I could portray how I am trying to balance everything that is going on now. I still love purple, I am trying to gravitate more towards other colors that are also inspiring me.

I was planing a makeover, literally for the longest time, I just had no time to sit and think and picture it all in my mind.

I hope you fall in love with it as much as I am loving it now.

My new Internship

As many of you may already know, I was struggling so bad with finding some internships and I was trying to figure out what to do with my life now that I had to be a grown up. Well, the day has come where I get to go to an office and do actual stuff. I got my very first internship and I am head over heels about it.

I am now working with an awesome team of people over at the World Trade Center here in Lima, and it is just so nice to get to see how things are done. My first week went great, except for a very funny incident that caused the light to go out for an hour on Friday morning. That will be another story to tell here.

My first task, update the database of chambers of commerce and embassies and call and make sure that all of the data was up to date (duh! that's why it's called "updating" right?).

It is a part-time internship, meaning that the office hours are flexible. And for me, that is the best thing. I will start university again in March so that it is going to be adapted to what my classes require and the demand that they have of my time.

I am so happy to be working there, if you can't already tell, and I will be updating more about this subject soon.

I hope you are having a great week so far and that everything you do give you satisfaction.

My Everyday beauty and makeup routine

I normally don't wear much makeup, just for when I am having a big party, where all my friends or family are going to be and it is a more "fancy" one. I tend to go bare skin to where ever I go. Specially if I am running errands. Not much interesting people to find when you are grocery shopping is there?

Well, lately I've been obsessed with going out, more often, and heading to class, with at least my eyes eye lined, with some mascara and color on my lips. That is all I use.

So my routine starts in the morning by washing my face and moisturizing it, I take a shower every other day. Then I chose my outfit and then get my hands on my eyeliner, mascara and lipstick. The color of lipsticks tend to be very subtle and natural for daily wear. I leave the bold colors for meeting my friends at night and having a good time.

what is your beauty routine?

Parlez-Vous OPI?

Hey Everyone!

This colour of nail polish is super pretty for winter, it is not super dark. It is a muted colour more like a greyish lilac. It is called Parlez-Vous OPI and it came out with their French Collection a couple of years back. It is classy and feminine. Here is a picture of this pretty colour.

Find me on FacebookTwitterPinterest and Bloglovin'! <3

And it goes perfectly with my wall <3 Purple mania love.

Picnic Breeze

Hey Everyone!

You all know how crazy I am about having my nails nicely painted and well manicured. Pretty much I love to pamper myself with pretty nail polish and by having pretty hands I can conquer the world and feel pretty hot.

A while back I purchased a trio of Revlon mini polishes in Sparkle, Garden and Waterfall. They are pretty summery colours.

From left to right:
Garden, Sparkle and Waterfall
Personally, I love Revlon nail polishes, they have a very long lasting wear and they don't chip that easily.

I liked to wear this colours for the pool or the beach with a black bikini I have and they just give a pop of colour to your ensemble. Another thing is, that with your tan in the summer months, they make it more noticeable, specially Waterfall. Being as pastel as it is, it makes everything more stand out.

Sparkle, on the other hand, being a glitter nail polish, is harder to take off with nail polish remover. For that reason I wear it on my ring finger to make my manicure stand out with more neutral colours. Specially in winter when I want to shine a little more (lack of sunshine, overload of glitter!)

this is the small things that make my day. Which are the ones that makes yours?

Style Segment: From the 1910 to 1920's

Hey Guys!

Style is a huge part of our world. It has been a dynamic environment since the beginning of times and has evolved and transcended to history. I have always wandered what has made it change so much and why some styles are coming back these days. Is it because before there was more of a sense of what was correct for the society and seemed more classy and elegant? Maybe we can find this out through the history of style.

In the time of 1910 all the way through 1920, the style changed more rapidly due to the different  events all the way from the World War I to the sinking of the Titanic. Corsets were rapidly eliminated from the wardrobe scene of women and instead more lose and less fitted because women had to start doing the jobs their men left behind to go fight the war.

Some other influences started to come their way, like the long tunics of the eastern nations and the colours and designs from them had a space built for the occidental societies. The skirts where some flowy and some very tight that they could't walk normally, instead they had to take small steps so that the fabric wont reap.

The shoes went on a different transformation and the stitching and the decorative buttons were present. Hats and scarves and umbrellas to protect from the sun were so in style that had a special section in every women's closet.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, it's part of a series, if you can notice I have tons of them coming your way.
