Getting in a routine

It's been a while, like a whole year, since i've done any proper workouts. This time i have a goal, i want to look my best and try to make it worth it.

So that is why, yesterday while watching  a friend and my date play soccer (football for you brits), i decided to go to the gym and pay up my month so that i have no more excuses to go and sweat my kg away and to shape up my body.

And with this, shoping is a great excuse! Workout clothes? Yes please!

I want it to be my routine, the one thing i cannot live without and want to be there in the gym in mu free time. Maybe in the mornings, or at night, any time i have to squeeze it in.

So this is where i am going to make my commitment and work hard and be good with it.

So i hope everything goes well! Wish me luck!

Until the next time!

Freezing Cold

It's been the coldest winter here in a while, last year, right around this time I remember was not that cold. I have been struggling to find clothes warm enough that aren't hoodies and sweat pants, and that are relatively appropriate for work. Yes, I've failed miserably. Besides, in the office we are right now is always freezing! and our A/C is not working at all.

We have come to a point where bringing blankets to work is the most suitable way to keep and stay warm in this harsh winter. But this is not that bad while we stay in that office (clothing norms aren't that strict). The down side is that we are moving, and the place we are moving is not going to be so flexible with our dress code. Trust me, we were secluded from all other human beings, and pretty much we were not interested in being all fancy pants while sitting at our desks working on reports AND FREEZING (we need to stay warm right?).

If in fact, we do move, we are going to have to step up our wardrobe. It worries me terribly. HOW AM I NOT GONNA DIE FROM HYPOTHERMIA?! (is that possible not on sea? well it definitely feels that way there) I hope, with all my heart and soul, that the A/C there works on point. (please please please WORK!)

Initially, this was going to be a post about boots. Yes, not quite there yet. And will not be there. It turned into a little ramble mumble but I had to get it out of my system. I will start wearing more layers of clothes this days we have left at the current place, and then, will try and find a seat under our A/C (if we have a working one elsewhere)

It feels like there might even be a snowstorm at some point (even though we do not have snow here) it is just excruciating.

I hope you guys in the northern hemisphere are enjoying your summer, and hope my fellow southern hemisphere friends are not freezing, but staying warm and cozy!

love you all!

Let's talk about it.

Maybe I am a little naive. Maybe I just like it too much.

Fashion is in the mouth of everyone. Without it we wouldn't be able to express ourselves. Even when someone says "I'm not into fashion" they are all wrong. You just don't need to follow the hottest trends to be a fashion addict. It is how you express your personality through it. Simple, sleek, classy, grunge, boho, hobo, country, even a mix, you are creating your own fashion statement. If sneakers is what you use more, go for it. If you are high for heels, go for it.

'This stuff'? Oh. Okay. I see. You think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you select... I don't know... that lumpy blue sweater, for instance because you're trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back. But what you don't know is that that sweater is not just blue, it's not turquoise. It's not lapis. It's actually cerulean. And you're also blithely unaware of the fact that in 2002, Oscar de la Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns. And then I think it was Yves Saint Laurent... wasn't it who showed cerulean military jackets? I think we need a jacket here. And then cerulean quickly showed up in the collections of eight different designers. And then it, uh, filtered down through the department stores and then trickled on down into some tragic Casual Corner where you, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin. However, that blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs and it's sort of comical how you think that you've made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact, you're wearing the sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room from a pile of stuff." Miranda Priestly. "The Devil wears Prada"

Best quote ever.

We are all not exempt from fashion choices, we just don't know how it really affects our way of seeing ourselves. It's no joke when they say "dress for success" either in your job or in your life. We just have to look and feel great.

It's our confidence that make the clothes look good on us, not the other way around.

Be confident, express yourself and it will take you wherever you need to be.

Fashion, what else am I supposed to say? Just have fun.

TGIF: The Man Repeller dose

Lately, I've been crazy reading new blogs that came across my sight. Some are super new and some are THE statements of the era. I just love coming across new things for me to keep me entertained and just to have my dose of beauty and fashion related things. What can I say? I'm just that crazy (I'm a girly girl, what did you expect?)

I came across this picture in the front page of Vogue. com!

The Man Repeller, one of the most fashion forward blog into encouraging you to wear fashion how you like it using statement pieces and in the moment fashion pieces too, she has the most bizarre fashion sense but she has a talent of making it work. Like actually work. If you haven't come across Leadra Medine's site, well, I am telling you right now, that you need to go and read it ASAP. I came across Man Repeller a couple of months ago when I saw her in one of the Rebecca Minkoff videos, Rebecca Minkoff Fashion Week Boot Camp  and thought she was so hilarious that I had to look what else she did, and yes, I fell for The Man Repeller (isn't it getting annoying, me repeating things over and over again? sorry!) and it's been great! She gives a lot of her personality in the site and OWNS it.

So I thought of sharing this blog and hope you enjoy it and see what things she does with fashion that you might think "oh no, but oh well".

Happy Friday and enjoy the beginning of the weekend!

Sunday Funday: Shopping Spree

Another Sunday is here, and with it comes the last day of September. Cold weather is getting near for some of you and the hot weather is coming the way of some of us. Don't you love the seasonal changes? I do and specially, choosing and buying clothes and accessories according to this.

Today, I'm off for a shopping spree with my lovely mother! We love to do that and, even if we end up buying just a couple of things, it's the most refreshing thing to do. We get to see the new trends and the new colors that are ready to be worn.

I hope you have a great Sunday and have some fun the last day of September!

Fashion Weeks kick-off parties!

Happy Saturday Everyone!

As the week has ended, and everybody has been a little crazy running around (the majority has just began a new semester a few days ago) and being loaded with work you normally don't get when you are just starting, I decided to make a post to make the stressful days be left behind for a while and talk Fashion Weeks. I know, a little late because they all began on Thursday with FNO's (Fashion's Night Out) from LA all the way through Italy.

This events are promoted in Europe and in the United States, they are the biggest ways to celebrate Fashion as a passion and as an art. It is the most profitable industry in the history, giving people jobs and a lifestyle. I love this add the most stylish people out there (Joan Rivers) and the most talented in LA made to promote this party of Fashion.

Some beauty gurus also participated, Elle and Blair Fowler and Dulce Candy.

I thought this is a great way to make people more conscious that Fashion is all over the world and more events should be promoted when the fashion weeks come along.

Here in Latin America we have great designers. Just look at Carolina Herrera and how massive her Fashion Empire has grown. We need to celebrate them too to make a statement and be a little piece of the puzzle too of this great movement.

Going back to topic, this month is going to be great and I will be keeping an eye to the latest trends that will, definitely, come around.

hope you have a great weekend!

Remember those...

Hey Everyone!

Today is Wednesday, the middle of the week, and I hope you are doing great!

So, do you remember everything you wanted? or everything you read a while ago? We sometimes get into a I-do-remember-but-not-much-of-it state and we can totally use up a good laugh or part of the information for our benefit. That's how I felt a couple of days ago while trying to remember which posts I've done through this period of time and came across this posts!

Shoe Love

Hey Everyone!

Shoes are my love, you can tell from my previous series called Shoes, shoes and more shoes. This time, I purchased the prettiest pair of Steve Madden shoes, they are a dark red color in patent leader, very very tall and are just me. It was that moment where you see the shoes, or any toher thing for that matter, and you just know those are the shoes you need.

Here are some pictures of them, if I'm not mistaken, they are already discontinued, but I found them at a total nice bargain. The price was just right. They are in the Model P-Rosa with the squared point.

So these are my new loves. I have worn them so much since I got them and can say that are the most confortable shoes that are this high, ever. They have a double pat at the platform, that is why they are so easy to walk in, you are like walking on the clouds.

Have you purchased any shoes lately? If so, was it love at first sight?

Hope you're having a great day

Purple Mania: Purple Room

Hey Everyone!

Now that I am a free student for a while, I have been having tons of ideas about what posts to do.one of them came when I was looking around my room lying in my bed, doing nothing at all, and figured that I was kind of surrounded (and kind of burried) with purple stuff in my room, from my bedding to my walls and the case of my Blackberry. Then this idea came to my mind… why not write a series about the Purple Mania that's going on in my room? (and life if you might as well say it).

The first topic I will be, as the tittle of this blog states, the purple elements in my room. I don't know it started, but I kind of gravitate towards purple, some might say that purple is not a well defined colour, but it has always been pretty to me. I am one of those persons that just don't want to admit that a book actually influenced this behaviour, but it totally was a book which made me gravitate towards it. I remember reading the book "The Color Purple" by Alice Walker, which in the imagery of it (thanks Miss Wendy for teaching me actual literary language) included a lot this color. In one of the papers we had to present, I investigated about the meaning of this imagery, and actually found out a lot of meanings, the one that I remember the most, is that Purple represented the royalty, monarqy and it gave status to the people. We have a winner!! I know now why I always gravitate to that color and, of course, you know now too.

Going back to the main point,  my room. I am writing this post as I stare to the only purple wall in my room. I have a huge tree painted on my walls, it covers two of them with the branches and the leaves, and yes,  the leaves are PURPLE, oh my, Purple everywhere. Here is a picture of it.

Pretty isn't it? My adorable mother helped me draw it and then I painted it, love my art forward mother.

Another purple element in my room, is my blanket, which is very cozy and warm and makes me happy, specially in this cold weather we are having here. Oh and also, a smaller blanket, which is lilac, a shade of purple.

Yes that is an animal print pillow cover (guilty pleasures revealed?)

Now, I am peaking over my dresser and I notice my infamouse Happy Birthday Balloon my parent gave me when I turned 15, which is proudly going to turn 6 this Tuesday.

This is it for this series, I will try to upload them everyday or every other day!

I hope you enjoyed my purple room elements!

Happy Monday

Hey everyone!

I hope this start of the week has been great for you! It started nicely to me, we began by cleaning my mum's closet and reorganizing it. It was nice to select clothes for charity and also to make it a better space for my mum to have and feel it nice and..well...better organized (for the lack of vocabulary today) I feel I am so tired and I have already began some of my (late) spring cleaning, making room for new stuff and for more school books (i feel i start swimming in papers every semester)

I hope you have a great week and a beautiful Monday :)

Style Segment: From the 1910 to 1920's

Hey Guys!

Style is a huge part of our world. It has been a dynamic environment since the beginning of times and has evolved and transcended to history. I have always wandered what has made it change so much and why some styles are coming back these days. Is it because before there was more of a sense of what was correct for the society and seemed more classy and elegant? Maybe we can find this out through the history of style.

In the time of 1910 all the way through 1920, the style changed more rapidly due to the different  events all the way from the World War I to the sinking of the Titanic. Corsets were rapidly eliminated from the wardrobe scene of women and instead more lose and less fitted because women had to start doing the jobs their men left behind to go fight the war.

Some other influences started to come their way, like the long tunics of the eastern nations and the colours and designs from them had a space built for the occidental societies. The skirts where some flowy and some very tight that they could't walk normally, instead they had to take small steps so that the fabric wont reap.

The shoes went on a different transformation and the stitching and the decorative buttons were present. Hats and scarves and umbrellas to protect from the sun were so in style that had a special section in every women's closet.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, it's part of a series, if you can notice I have tons of them coming your way.

For all of you fashion lovers!

Guys, i am proud to say that I am a FASHION ADDICT. SHOES are the biggest thing for me. I like to mix and match outfits around the shoes that I am going to wear. I've been loving, a 1000% of the polyvore website where you can create the looks you love, find high end fashion pieces play around with them and experiment all the great ways that you can use fashion for.

I have been playing around it for a little time and I have gotten to get a lot of love and found that my inspirations give the class and youthful feels to the outfits I create in the page. You might have already noticed from previous posts like Jade my Mind, Gossip Girl: Blair Waldorf inspired, Pop! of Burgundy and the latest outfit Boho-meets-me. All of these outfits are based around the shoes I find in the page and are just the high-lights of them all and I love them! If only i could have them all !

I think these outfits reflect my personality, I am a girl that is nuts for classy styles of clothes but like to have fun every now and them with the prettiest colours that I find in the pallet.

I like giving neutral colours to the outfits so that i get to dress them beautifully with the rest of accessories as you can see above.

I recommend you to go visit the polyvore website and check the amazing things they have! you can visit others people profiles and check their collections.

Click here to go check my profile :) and create your own to show that you also are a fashion addict!

Olsen Sh-molsen?

As much as I love these twin sisters in their movie roles and everything, I can't say the same about their fashion sense. Sometimes we see them looking fab! and sometimes they are just not doing themselves justice. They are gorgeous and have fame, they have their issues, they have problems like we all do, but just to look like this on the red carpet, is just not acceptable for people that have been so long in the industry.

Some people might love their style because they say they are original and just show their personality. Which I agree with up to certain point. You can match your personality with well fitted clothes that complement your body and make you more yourself. For example, they used this beautiful dresses to a red carpet event and they looked great! They showed that they are relaxed, fashion forward designers without going from classy to tacky and found the perfect middle for what they are trying to achieve.

I am not saying that they can't wear what they want, but there are times and places where you actually need to step a little forward to show that they are what they are with class and just WELL FITTED clothes.

Gloving some Gloves

It's winter time here in Peru as you may already know, and I've been freezing more than normal. I have decided that I need, with desperation a pair of leathered gloves and I am in the search for a good pair. I loved the way Kim Kardashian rocked them last fall/winter and they are the best accessory to keep your hands warm and cosy, because I hate when my hands are like little ice cubes and I feel any minute they are going to start cracking and my fingers might fall off.

BRIDLE LEATHER GLOVESI searched in the Burberry site for gloves and I found a pair that I absolutely loved and had all the characteristics I was Looking for.

But I am not splurging on something like that but just found them so pretty! they are expensive and I am no working girl for the moment so I am not asking my parents to spend that significant amount of money for a pair of gloves, it would not make sense at ALL.

They come in two colours, burgundy and black and they cost US$ 375.00. which is ridiculous for a pair of gloves but If I've had the money I would totally spend on them just as a treat to myself :)

I found this amazing pair of gloves at an online store called ShopNBC, and I think I might purchase them, they are leather and have really nice detail-like stitches an some buttons. They come in 3 different colours, pink, brown and black and are just so cute that I am going bananas over them.

What I liked the most was the price tag on them, they were originally $85. then got marked down to $29.75 and now they are only $18.78 which is a really good deal. If you want to check this amazing deal click here to be redirected to their site.

Here is a picture of the beautiful gloves:

hope you guys are enjoying the rest of your summer for my Fellas in the US and Europe, and for you guys living in the southern hemisphere, let's just wish summer get here FASTER! :)

Fashion for your cellphone WHAT?

I recently got my self a blackberry phone and I am in love (I think I love so many things!) and just not by the way it looks but also the amount of applications you can put into it to help your life be much more easier. An example is that if you want to recognise who is calling you and is someone important for you, you can add an app called whoisit? and will allow you to change the colour of the led light to help you recognise people.
Not only for the people that have blackberries their phone is essential, iPhones, Androids and every other type of phones contain their entire life and, why not help your life feel a lot fashionable?  Your phone is something you are always carrying with you at all times, yo have it on your hand, even more time that you would carry your purse. I think they are just the perfect accessories, and essentials for the every day life routine.

That is why I feel that you can combine it perfectly to your outfits and even to your personality! Sometimes having a lot to combine with can get way too expensive, but have a different few choices to make them work or have just one case that will flatter your personal style and personality.

Here are some ideas you can get:
1) Edge Girl
The girly meets edgy style, it's cute and makes the red roses pop with the colour. This shield is called 3-D Rose Dagger.

2) In-love

For the girls that are in-love with life, or with their partners this is just a cute way to demonstrate that you love and heart what you like and even your job, to remind you that there is something more. It's a really nice shield full of colour and girly and sweet.

3) Peace and Love

For those of you that have the hippy feel running through your veins, this is the perfect way to sanctify it and let your pride show! I think tha combinations with black and the colours just make them feel more alive and really show what they want to achieve.

4) Bling-a-licious

If you are more in to high-end and quality and more pricey luxurious bling, just bedazzle people with the swaroski cristal embeded cases. They are amazing and pretty and just everything girly that you want to show.

Enough of personality, lets show some outfit combos for your phone.

Go for bold colours, one-shade or in gradients from light to dark are going to make the perfect plus for any outfit. Personally i feel that going for those colours you are never to be wrong and look perfectly come together for any occasion, a night out with the girls down town, a stroll around the city or a lunch date.

All the pictures and cases are from Cellairis  and they have really cool accessories for every device you own.

I hope this has been helpful!

Tell me, do you like to combine your phone to what you wear? or you are more of the types that show off their personality with them?

xo,

S.A

*Disclaimer: I am not being paid to promote any of the cases mentioned above by Cellairis. I am just giving my opinions on this item. This is 100% my own opinions.
