Spring. How I've missed you!

Today is actually a day in which Spring is showing it's true colors. I like that very much (except when I go out bundled up in winter clothes and then the sun decides to come out!) and I have been waiting for the hotter days and brighter ones to start appearing so that I can change up my nail polish colors to ones more cheerful and bright. So yes..I did this and painted my nails a kind of coral-y pink nail polish from....can you guess??...*drum roll* Revlon, that is right.

It is called "Kiss me Coral" and it is very pretty. It has very tiny micro glitter and is sort of a pink reflection. It has a holographic effect. I like it very much. Sorry for the picture, but it is the easiest way to take a quick snapshot (from the webcam!) I think I did captured the essence of the whole nail polish, you can see the coral and a little of the pink reflection.

I have found that it is a little too sheer for my taste, that is why I tend to apply 3 coats of it so that the color turns out truer to what it looks like in the bottle.

Sorry for the horrible cuticles and messed up fingers, I haven't been taking that much care of my nails this past days because, well you know, because of this! and now I am back at it. Besides, I tend to bite the sides of my nails when I get really nervous or anxious or stressed.

That is how it looks like with  3 coats of nail polish on. I think it looks pretty and is very spring-y like.

I hope you are having a nice day!

Update + Current Favorites

Hello there! I have been pretty busy these past days, Midterms are here and I'm studying my butt off!

Gosh I never expected to read so much right now. But in the end it is totally going to be worth it. There is nothing more rewarding than achieving good grades for all the effort you put into it. I believe that having these little gratifications in life is huge to increase your self-esteem.

On another topic, makeup wise, I've been loving my Revlon Creme shadows that I've had for a while now, I am using them pretty much every day, I feel they are super versatile and nice and they don't crease (at least not that I can see them much). I have them in two palettes, Precious Metals and Moonlit Jewels. They are so pretty and good quality too. So if you get a chance to try them, go buy them. (I'm a big Revlon sucker as you may have already noticed!)

See? I've already hit pan in some of them :)

Another favorite of mine has been gummy bears, which are the cure for my Midterm Blues! The amount of sweet is just the best way to keep me going and it makes me a little hyperactive, but well, I think I've had way too many of them today...I feel woozy hahaha!

To go ahead with accessories, I've been loving my black ankle booties, the cow-girl style ones. They are so comfy and are a great to walk and take my exams on! (as if I took my exams running LOL)

I think that's all for today! I hope you are having great weekend!

Picnic Breeze

Hey Everyone!

You all know how crazy I am about having my nails nicely painted and well manicured. Pretty much I love to pamper myself with pretty nail polish and by having pretty hands I can conquer the world and feel pretty hot.

A while back I purchased a trio of Revlon mini polishes in Sparkle, Garden and Waterfall. They are pretty summery colours.

From left to right:
Garden, Sparkle and Waterfall
Personally, I love Revlon nail polishes, they have a very long lasting wear and they don't chip that easily.

I liked to wear this colours for the pool or the beach with a black bikini I have and they just give a pop of colour to your ensemble. Another thing is, that with your tan in the summer months, they make it more noticeable, specially Waterfall. Being as pastel as it is, it makes everything more stand out.

Sparkle, on the other hand, being a glitter nail polish, is harder to take off with nail polish remover. For that reason I wear it on my ring finger to make my manicure stand out with more neutral colours. Specially in winter when I want to shine a little more (lack of sunshine, overload of glitter!)

this is the small things that make my day. Which are the ones that makes yours?

Foundation: A love/hate relationship

Hey Everyone!

I don't wear foundation or make-up on a daily basis, although just some mascara and a lipstick. I don't like lip-gloss that much.

The whole reason I don't wear foundation is that I feel that it is something too unnatural on my skin. Even the lightest foundation ever made I feel it not nice, I have no way to describe how I feel it but I hope you get a picture.

I also think it might damage my skin, it clogs the pores and it can't breath as naturally as it should and I don't want my skin to be damaged.

On the other hand, for when I am going out, or having a very special outing where pictures are involved and everything I do like wearing foundation. It's a crazy thing for me, I hate it for every day, but love it for special occasions where my skin should look flawless and beautiful.

When I do use it I use Almay's compact foundation. It is hypo-allergenic and do not cause me any side reactions. My skin is pretty sensitive too.

Love hate relationship all over with foundation. How do you feel about it? do you wear it on a daily basis? or like me, you just wear it on special occasions?

Remember those...

Hey Everyone!

Today is Wednesday, the middle of the week, and I hope you are doing great!

So, do you remember everything you wanted? or everything you read a while ago? We sometimes get into a I-do-remember-but-not-much-of-it state and we can totally use up a good laugh or part of the information for our benefit. That's how I felt a couple of days ago while trying to remember which posts I've done through this period of time and came across this posts!

NOTD: Revlon's Really Rosy

Hey Everyone!

As you can tell, I'm a huge Revlon Nail Polish Junky. Today, is Friday, my favourite day of the week because the weekend starts. I thought today I wanted to wear a colour that was still summery but more earthy toned to go with the fall that is coming.

I personally love this colour, it's girl-y but gives an edge to the whole concept, it's a dirty rose tone.

it's a really pretty colour but i feel the picture just distorts the tones. But it pretty much looks like it.

Have a nice day and enjoy the start of the weekend!

Polish Review: Revlon's Mad About Mango

Hey everyone!

I am back with a new Polish Review. Surprise Surprise! It's another Revlon nail polish! This time I thought to show you one of my favourite nail polish colours for spring time, that i wear through the spring and summer months.  It was from the limited edition collection of scented polishes, the first one they had out, and it is called Mad about Mango. First off, i think the idea of having scented nail polishes was cleaver but actually I don't like very much the scent of artificial mangoes...it just doesn't make justice to the real fruit. Scent apart, The colour is so pretty, it's a corall-y sort of red-ish colour going to the side of bright neon orange. Here is a picture of what it looks like:

It is a fun colour to rock and it just makes you feel more confident about yourself and your appearance. It's not necessary for me to say this, because you all know how I feel about this brand, It is very lasting and it chips not so easily and has great pigmentation, the only side note here is that to get a very rich colour you need to do 3 coats to really appreciate it.

I hope you have a great day!

Revlon Polish obsession

Today I was cleaning up my closet racks and I found that i have a huge obsession with nail polishes and specially with Revlon nail polishes. I love that they are always coming up with new fun ideas and the scented ones they have for limited editions are amazing also.

As many girls may know, having pretty is nails is our goal and a way to express our personalities and a way to make an outfit stand out from the rest by adding that extra pop of colour you are looking for.

My top 5 nail colours from my collection are:

From left to right:
1) Raspberry Rapture- Scented
2) Plum Night
3) Sublime Strawberry- Scented
4) Chocolate Truffle
5) Plum Seduction

These are the ones that I normally go for during the year. I love Pinks and purples and for summer some coral colours and bright fun ones that make your tan really stand out. For winter I go for dark colours and reds and sometimes just match the nail polish to what I am wearing for the day.

I live in Peru and Revlon is a really good drugstore brand and with really great quality. There are other brands here that are cheaper but they are not as good as Revlon. O.P.I is also my favourite brand but here you can't find it that easily and when you do, it is somewhat expensive but it is totally worth it.

I also find in handy that to have a base and a top coat to protect your nails is also very important because in that way you are not going to stain them and therefore the colour will be removed much easily with the nail polish remover of your preference. I own the Revlon Base+Top Coat and i find that it works really nice until you almost reach the bottom and end of it. When it is almost gone, it will start being sticky (like most nail polishes do when they are almost done) and it just doesn't work any more. Bubbles will start arising and mess up your colour and manicure.

I have a little trick for this. If you want to make it last at least for the rest of the application and until you buy yourself another flask of a nail polish you love, just add a few drops of nail polish remover into it and shake well. Don't use too much though because that will make it a lot thinner and the colour might loose it's pigmentation and you'll need to apply more than two coats of it.

I hope you enjoy this post of my latest obsession!

now tell me, do you love nail polishes as I do? or what is the one makeup item that you can't seem to have enough?
