Updateable me: University, Life

Hey Everyone!

I hope you spent a lovely mother's day with the ones you love! We spend it chilling in the house, I cooked a nice Dinner, Pampered the most amazing women and just relaxed from everything, the midterms just pushed me to the limit and just went home after every exam just feeling miserable. But I can't complain with my grades, they are pretty high and now I feel dumb for feeling so miserable after them! hahaha

(being buried with books much? hahaha)

Now, I have some serious assignments to get done, as the semesters go by, i feel it is much more work to be done and is a hand full of everything, I needed this week of study to start to realize that with a stable way of life comes all the ups and downs, you just need to know which are your priorities. Up to some point I felt like quitting university and decided to follow a career path more like the Kardashians, going to nice parties, knowing the right people and putting my name on every single thing possible! hahaha I love them, don't get me wrong, but I was stressed out and horrified by my luck at the moment.

In a more stable state of mind I can say that I would not want my life to be anything other than what its been so far, and with baby steps you can achieve a lot.

Having good friends, and an awesome family by my side just make things a lot easier and bearable.

It's time for me to keep on doing university assignments but I love talking to you so much that I feel relaxed while writing these posts <3

Style Segment: From 1920 to 1930's

Style set it's new boundary-less, more feminine and fashionable self during this period of time, women started to centre more around personal grooming as a plus for fashion. This became a hit since Hollywood started presenting motion pictures with some of our favourite fashionistas of the time.

The magazines Vogue and Harper's Bazaar saw this trait coming and inclined their products into developing fashion statements and slowly became women's most read magazines until this era. Women preferred them because of the tips and tricks they showed in how to achieve the Hollywood Glamour that every girl/woman desired.

During this time period, skirts, suits and bodices where so in and the hem fell from about an inch beneath the knee, one stylist that introduced it was Chanel. The style became baggy, not that much of form fitting as the previous style we saw during the decade of the 1910 all the way to 1920. The zipper began to be utilize more in the latter part of the decade.

During the late years of the decade, in 1928, the style changed again making the hem to the knee and leading to the style of 1930.

Women gained the right to vote and with such liberty they began to carve their way in society, more liberal thoughts run through their minds and (as being a woman my self too) it was fun to experiment with new things that came in the way. The style had to become more comfortable without loosing the class and the status of ladies.

We can never forget about the shoes, the piece that make the outfit fall together smoothly. T-straps where the most used type of shoe because they provided security while dancing the Charleston  and pointy toes and medium to high heel where perfect for the deed.

I hope you guys liked this post, it's always interesting to know how style has changed and what influenced those changes.

Favourite Summer Drink

Hey Guys!

This summer, here in the southern hemisphere, has been hotter than ever and has made me sweat so MUCH,
I am a water drinker but not fan of the freezing cold water becayse i don't like the taste of it, i don't know why.
Instead, I've become a fan of the Crystal light juices from Kraft foods. Clight for the market outside of the US.

Imagem21_largeIt is AMAZING it contains no sugar and is for a litre of water, but I dilute it in 1.7 litres because in that way it is  much more fresh and not too strong flavoured. I put it in the freezer for a while and then just take it out and move it to the fridge.

Also, you can try drinking fruit juices with little to no sugar in them and they are awesome to make the hotness of the summer or of a hot hot spring day cool down and make it refreshing.

This was just a quick post and hope you are having nice days :)

5 foods that get to your hips

Hey guys!

It's another day and another of my lists come up! who isn't worried about the food they eat and how are they going to affect their body? I think that this is my biggest scare as it is for the most of the girls out there. Can we eat chocolate? A cupcake? A McDonald's Burger with extra cheese and bacon? Where do they go in our body??

All these questions are just getting us more and more worried, right? I know, I AM worried!

So now, we are going to get in details and more details.

5) Fondue: As much as you may love your fondue (all that cheese and more cheese on top of MORE cheese) it's time to go cutting it out. Cheese is a killer one, specially the one used for fondue. It contains a lot of calories and fat and grease that will just serve as food for your hips and they might get fatter and larger. I think it is also best to eat it in moderation every once in a long (and by long i mean like 6 months apart) time so that it is not damaging your health.

4) French Fries: They are the best companions of the next food that is not healthy for you at all. Because they are fries, they need to be deeped in hot boiling (guess what?) yes OIL. It has toxins and saturated fats that are just not good for you.

3) Cheeseburger: Yes this is the companion of your fries i was talking about. Fried Burger plus cheddar cheese plus mayo and all those sauces and the French Fries are just a killer combo. All the fat is going directly to your hips ladies! we are like hamsters in that way, we accumulate, just not in our cheeks but in our hips (bummer).

2) Pasta: Yes, and I feel disappointed by this. You know I love me some pasta every now and then. But white wheat pasta is the worst. Lasagne  as an example has more or less 3000 calories because of the ingredients.

1) Burritos: Good lord, Mexicans are great for inventing all types of yummy food! but unfortunately this just makes your health go under the scope of calories and fat and to get greased arteries.

I hope you guys have enjoyed this post and that you are aware of what to avoid for the moment to have a healthier diet <3
