Cravings...

Hey Everyone!

I have been craving lately so much sweet! I just don't know what is going on. And certainly, I've indulged too much on it. Yesterday I hit rock bottom with it. And how did I noticed that? Well, I ate a full bag of gummy bears, then had a chocolate and then some jelly. I have been the worst lately.

I started feeling tired and, just not my normal self. I went through various mood swings and just couldn't manage it!

So from today onwards, I have made myself a promise. To cut out sweets. All sort of candy. The bad stuff. I am going for using sweeteners only if necessary, ie: if I drink a coffee. I will not say that I wont eat once every 2 weeks those desserts, just try to make it a healthier option for me to cut it out on week days.

Saying this, I leave my statement here, the beginning of my no sweet regime. I hope I can pull this off and not succumb to the temptations. I have a really big sweet tooth. Oh dear, Will power.

Back to College/University: Eating habits

Hey guys!

Now that university and college classes are about to start, people are concerned that while they study they are going to have less time to concentrate on their eating habits and that they might gain  weight while they do so. I am one of those people that are concerned and just don't know how to balance the hectic life of university or college.

After many months trying to loose weight and seemed to be doing well for a time, i can now say that something that seemed difficult (while eating at college cafeteria or elsewhere) has now become a lot easier. I normally pack my own lunch and find a place where i can eat it peacefully and enjoy it. I normally pack a good piece of meat (either chicken or turkey) and a potato and some steamed veggies. And to drink just a water bottle and sometimes, when it gets too cold, i buy a cup of coffee. It is always a good idea to pack a fruit also so you can snack on it at mid morning or if you have late classes to eat them at mid afternoon a couple hours later than lunch so that you don't feel hunger.

A small tip: If you feel hunger and don't have a fruit at your reach it the time and all you have is a water bottle, you just drink some of it and the feeling will end up like a relieve for your stomach.

I hope you guys find this post helpful!

B-DAY dinner ideas

Hey Everyone!

As it has been my birthday yesterday, I went with my family out to eat and we went to a buffet. Here it is a lovely place called "Il Forno" where you can eat a variety of pastas and Italian food which is AH-MAZING. I love pastas so that is why i decided to go there. But on Sundays  they also have Peruvian food table where you can choose from whatever you like. My family is crazy about that so i thought "ok it's perfect, everyone can have what they like and eat from everything they choose".

So i really like that idea to have a birthday and go with family and friends and everyone can choose what they like, so you are happy and they are happy too.

So choose a place that have a variety of foods where you can choose from, normally it is better to find one that has an international menu. Find the one that specializes in what you prefer but have into consideration that they also have a good chef for the rest of the food. As it is your birthday, it is going to be almost physically impossible, if going out to a buffet, to keep a healthy eating, but try your best and don't pair pastas with meat because that is going to make you process a lot faster the carbs from the pasta. Or try not eating the garlic bread with that because that adds up the calories you are consuming.

If you prefer seafood, go for it, eat freshly fished fish (it sounds redundant I know!) and don't chose the fried one, just one that is baked, or smoked or at the grill which is really low on oil because they don't use the amount needed for fried fish. If you like it choose salmon, or shrimps and combine them with vegetables because in that way you will find that the flavour of the fish stands out and is really good.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Tell me where do you like to eat out for your birthday and which is your favourite food!?

Meal Diary: Monday&Tuesday

Hey Everyone!

So I have been eating really good lately and specially i had no idea that i was good at cooking!
Making these meals have made me realize the importance that a perfect balance makes and to know how to mix the things you eat.

For the past days, Monday and Tuesday, i ate:

Monday:

  • Breakfast: a bowl of special K with milk
  • Lunch: A chicken filled in with asparagus and Edam cheese. with steamed vegies and just a little ampunt of rice.
  • Dinner: an orange and half a banana
Tuesday:
  • Breakfast: A bowl of special K with milk (it's my go to breakfast, and it is easy and healthy)
  • Lunch: A chicken kind of soup with potatoes and raisins and carrots and a little rice by the side. (here in Peru we have to have rice as our side dish, we are characterized by that.)
  • Dinner: A bowl of oatmeal and an orange.
These are all the things that have gotten into my tummy and i feel really happy about it. It's not too much food and it is well balanced in order not to lack of anything.

I cooked the first dish on monday, lunch. and i think it was pretty awesome that i can actually cook! this is a big deal! now i can live alone and not starve! hahaha

such a drama lady.

I will attach a picture when i download them to my computer.

So what have you been eating? tell me about it in the comments below :)

Friday: Night meal ideas

Hello everyone!

It's Friday and therefore the end of the week (or the start of the weekend) and I am finally FREE to keep up after some weeks of being super duper busy. It is refreshing that there's no more homework's to hand in, of any of that.

So I was looking to some really yummy ideas of a healthy night meal ideas, and i came across the Food Network and I saw that they had this amazing list of night meals that actually made my mouth water!

But the recipe that actually caught my eyes (and tummy) the most was this super delicious Chicken Divan with Sherry Dijon Sauce.

Picture of Stuffed Chicken Divan with a Sherry Dijon Sauce Recipe

If the simple picture Just looks mouthwatering, imagine how good this might taste?!

This recipe was actually adapted to be healthy and to have the nutrients and vitamins that you need without stopping to be delicious!

This dish contains broccoli, Gruyère cheese, milk, olive oil and more. To see the recipe click here and it will give you all the instructions on how to prepare it.

These are all great meal ideas, not only for dinner, but also for lunch and specially that in some countries summer is now here and people want to be bikini ready and to keep in shape eating healthy.

As  for a side dish I would totally like some steamed veggies or a fresh salad.

I hope you liked this meal idea and remember! Drink lots of water during the day!

I think I am going to go cook this recipe for today's lunch for my parents and me.

Happy Friday loves!

Friday Fun

Happy Friday!

So today the sun came out, the birds are singing and everything seems happy and with a magical aura.

As the sun came out, i am in the mood to eat a fruit salad and drink a lot of water. If there's something that i could live of during a sunny day is from fruits and fresh veggies. I love they way they freshen up the body and the water contained within them is so good for us. Also, a good complement for them, and the amount of vitamins they provide, is the Sun, some good sun baths are perfect to fix those vitamins, but also use sunscreen to prevent damaging your skin. I recommend SPF 45 and higher to have a good care for it.

Sunny days are the best to go and do an outdoor sport, if you like, go for a hike, run around the park nearest to you, take your dog for a walk (if you have a dog, of course) have some fun in the sun, as many people say. And of course if you live near a beach, it is the perfect way to enjoy the sea and the sun, call your friends and hang out!

I am in a really good mood and therefore i think i might go out and walk my doggies for a while and enjoy this beautiful day !

Have a Wonderful day!

XO
