Wardrobe Upgrade

As a student, wearing comfortable clothes has been good, and getting to work in the same (but always cute) outfits is even better, until that one time where your boss comes to you and your student colleagues (see what is going on here?) and tells you all that you need to start dressing your part. Yes,  he had no trouble with it at all, but it is also something that is required in order to look professional and be more "mature" for what we have been doing around.

The last couple of months have been really relaxed with me not studying any more (less than a month for graduation! yey!) which has made me realize that as a professional woman, I had to be on top of the game and started dressing appropriately. I had to go out and buy myself dress pants, blouses, shoes (because why not?) and some accessories to be prepared for the every day job activity.

I went from dressing like this:

Jeans, boots, and t-shirts (which was cute too)

To dressing like this:

Dress pants, blouses, coats and heels (not pictured well here)

Which has been pretty much a matter of getting used to it and trying to play with it so that it really looks young and fresh and age appropriate.

It has been a good change, and I am definitely trying new styles and being more daring with all of it.

have you had to go through a major wardrobe upgrade at any moment in life just like mine??

I hope you are doing great! until next time!

Journal

Writing is a way to escape from a part of my life and a way to relax after several events going on with it. Sometimes we write a journal, a diary, moods, on paper, on a sticky-note, in our phones, in a tablet, on a word document, in twitter, in facebook and all the social media which involves the art of drawing thoughts with the written word.

For me, writing in a more public way in the internet is a risk, of people I know reading everything that goes through my mind and even sometimes people who I have no idea on who they are read all of it and I am not sure why they keep reading.

After some time being mute in the blog, my feeling was "man I miss this". This is my journal, my everyday escape from a part of reality which I don't hate, but neither loath to death. Writing is a passion. I have several projects which involve the written word in several aspects, where I can pour my imagination and my experience with the one love I have.

Here a fragment of one of my most secret projects yet, which I won't reveal just yet, but wanted to have it on record here.

"What is a dream after all? A dream is what your heart desires and your brain makes an image of it and flashes it while sleeping, or even while being awake, like an endless movie that just needs to continue.

The writing might be sloppy, but it is still a working project which needs to be taken care of in order for it to grow.

I feel somewhat attached to the story line which I have been creating for a while for dreams we dream and lives impossible to avoid.

I hope you liked a little of it.

Disclaimer: All opinions are my own, the extract is part of a project I'm working on at the moment. It is all my creative work.

Vintage Fashion Sketches

Fashion sketches have always been amazing to me, the way artists (yes, fashion designers are artists) portray their vision and make it shine through an illustration is just incredible. You have to be talented and be patient in order to get that amount of domain in illustrating things. Here I leave you one sketch that I found that really caught my attention.

Fancy

Hope you spend a nice and relaxing Sunday. I will make of mine the best one :)

Spending Freeze Update

At the beginning of the month I posted about a freeze on my spending habits. Today I am writing to update you all on how has it been going for me, and let me tell you, it's been pretty great! I have not touched my savings and I see my goal closer and closer, and it is amazing on how I can live with just a limited amount of money and not go coocoo about it.

Pretty much how it feels. Here.

There have been times where I think "Gosh I wish I just bought that great pair of heels!" but I am glad I didn't.

I have learned how to prioritize the wants and the needs and just asking to myself "Do I really need it? or do I just WANT it?" if the answer is just a want, then I restrain my shopaholic self and walk right away before it pushes me to do (or spend) something I will not be proud of later.

This is a quick post, and I hope it is all going well with you!

Have an awesome day!
