Proud.

My days have been quite interesting. I have a lot of mood swings but they are quite good for me in some very, very weird ways.

But now enough about me. I am feeling very proud. I will not mention the names of the people that are making me proud for some reasons.

Friends, they are the most important part of our lives. With them you laugh, you cry, you do crazy stuff and never regret it. This is why I am proud. Because of my friends. The friends that are achieving great results from their paths and having fun while doing it. Because it is with passion that they come to the world of adulthood (as I like to call it) and face the challenges. Some have meltdowns, some just extreme joyfulness, but with every step of the way they are learning. With the challenges they face, the tears (may they be of joy or of stress) and the laughs, they all move forward, at their own speed and pace but they are all achieving their goals.

Being students of medicine, film making, law, management, marketing, fashion, design, photography, you name it, seem to have different effects on each one. And it shows, as we have grown in to our own skin the way we each see the world is a unique and full-of-possibility universe. We all bring our experiences together and that is why we are part of a great friendship.

As lost as we all may find ourselves in the way, friends make it all better and help to find that perspective we needed at a time. I love my friends, I love how they are growing in their skins, and maybe breaking through to be great at what they are doing. Struggling is part of the deal of making your way though life, but even greater is to overcome it and face it.

What are you guys proud of today?

Seasons Drama

I'm sitting here knowing very little about the meaning of the changing seasons. They are very stressful for me, in winter I want summer and in summer I want winter.

Yes, a total roller coaster of emotions when I get one and not the other. A little drama queen.

So today I am in one of those moods where I hate summer and wish it was winter to bundle up and layer my clothes and look even cuter without worrying that the sweat (gross) comes down my face and ruin the piece of art that is my make-up (LOL totally not true!!) but lets pretend it is.

Even though I have a fan blowing at the maximum capacity, I just can't get the heat to turn off (I wish there existed a switch to just turn seasons on and off) and my desire for it to be winter is even greater.

Heat in summer makes me dizzy somehow, specially it being hot when my classes at Uni start and keeps on going till the middle of the semester. It is just unbearable.

I feel I have been writing a lot about things that bother me, but let's face it, there are a lot. Keeping up with the seasons is one that makes my mind tired.

That is enough about my babbling, that could continue for hours, but I wont bother you any further with it.

I hope you are enjoying your week and have an awesome time.

Technological minds

How broken heart-ed would you be if the love of your live just suddenly left you and took with it the hard work of your life and the passion you put on it? Well I have a clue. If your computer just stopped working, which happened to a friend of mine, the pain and the devastation will hit you hard and flat on the face and at the heart.

In a computer we tend to put our lives and souls and hearts out and express them through writing, through photos, through music and everything possibly imaginable. To recover that after something happened to the computer in question, that will be just gone. Absolutely gone. Maybe for ever, maybe not, if you find the right person to recover them and depending on the damage it had left.

So here is my point, why trust on a machine to take and care of your deepest feelings? I believe that before they existed people kept better track of what they had, everything on paper, if well stored, lasted a long time. It was much more personal too. The letters where actually more meaningful than just plain e-mails. A love letter was much more romantic. The other day I received a love e-mail. Which in the first place does not sound nice, and it definitely did not made the charm. Call me old schooled but I still believe that actual romance comes in hand-print and with a dozen red roses on the side.

Putting everything in that computer makes you work more, you need backups, you need unlimited storing space, which is not even available at the moment (which, helloo! I need desperately) and going back to the personal thing, some things might get leaked, some may get hacked and it is not fun to get your personal life out and about in public. Not nice.

Listening to my friend's case, really made me to start thinking how technology has taken over our lives and how impersonal everything is turning, instead of calling we just text, instead of visiting each other, we text some more, we have now facetime, skype and all of that.

It is true that it makes things more simple. And a lot faster, and makes distances feel like centimeters, but every now and then, we could all just unplug ourselves from that and keep a diary, call our friends, keep a photo album to keep our most cherished memories, go for lunch with the loved ones, take a walk with your pet, breath some fresh air.

I certainly love spending time on the computer, but I also like to get some me time outside of it and enjoy a little my crafts and my writing (I do keep a journal, and a book where I can write whatever pops in my mind)  and my music. Playing the piano is so relaxing for me.

Wishing you all the best with all my love for you to enjoy a more simple life, i hope you enjoyed my little rant (not angry at all i must say). Tell me, what do you miss of the technology-esque free part of your life. Mostly for the people born in the early 90's and before.

A day in the Life: Working it

It's been a while since I posted something. I just wanted to say that I feel awful about that! I missed it so much!

Now that I am working at my internship, my time management has been a little off (read: a lot off). So my writing and my personal life have been compromised a little to try to juggle it all nicely and well done.

So today I will Share how my Day at work goes, and everything.

6:45 am My alarm goes off, I just knock it over and don't pay attention, about an hour later I realize I have to get up.
7:40 am Getting up, Choosing what to wear, getting ready. Have breakfast. All that I do in about 30 minutes.
8:10 am, I put my shoes on (note: I put them on just about time to get to work, because other wise my feet start hurting and I don't feel good)
8:15, Head out of the door and walk to get the bus. Good thing that I have a bus stop 3 blocks away from my house.

The ride takes between 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic and how many stops the bus makes. Hello public transportation system in Peru. YOU.ARE.a.mess.

Then I get out of the bus, and have to walk between 5 or 6 blocks, I have never really counted them, to get to the office. That takes me about 5 or 10 minutes depending on the shoes.

Normally I get to the office about a couple of minutes before 9 o'clock.

9:00 am Get to the office, wait for someone to open and deactivate the alarm of the space we interns work at, luckily we are only two at the moment.

Then I turn on my computer, wait for it to booth for a couple minutes, and display all my stuff on my desk to see what I have to work on for the day. I normally work with research and databases, I have to confirm them and make a lot of phone calls, and when I say a lot, I mean piles and piles of sheets to go through.

I stay at the office normally till lunch time, which is about 1 pm and the head home. I get there at about 2 because the buses get jammed packed at that time because everyone and their mothers get out of work to eat and to find a fairly empty bus, you are most definitely  going to wait for a while.

I eat lunch with my lovely mother, rest for a bit and then start working again, sometimes doing the research is difficult and i can stay hours and hours trying to figure it out, and that is when my schedule gets a little puzzled out.
Plus, my classes start mid March and my schedule is getting more packed!

SOMEONE! please, help me? :)

I hope you enjoyed my day at the office, pretty boring I know, but that's how my days are coming to be a routine.

I love you all,
